Strange case of moving weather posts and a scientist under siege | Environment |

The upshot of the article is that the weather stations in China that were supposed to disprove a point, did not exist or were not where they were supposed to be.

What they were supposed to disprove was that the temperature rise seen all over the globe was in fact due to the simple fact that weather stations that were formerly in rural areas were now in urban areas due to the encroachment by populations, and that the readings were higher because urban areas are warmer because of asphalt, roads, roofs etc.

The Chinese weather stations were still in rural areas and their temperature recordings had risen - except that the stations didn't exist.
